Local cable show features Lutherans

"A bunch of Lutherans sitting around talking" is the premise of a new locally produced show running on Sacramento cable access.
The half-hour show, "Lutherans Alive!," includes a few minutes of worship but is mostly an entertainment show, says one of the organizers.
"Because Lutherans tend not to proselytize, it is mainly a chance for people to see how we are and to let the light shine through us," says Diane Lowe.
The idea for the show came from a group of laypeople looking for ways to share their faith. About two dozen volunteers from the 25 Evangelical Lutheran Church in America congregations in the Sacramento area help produce the weekly show, which is supported by the local churches.
The show airs at 8 p.m. Saturdays on Sacramento cable channel 19. For more information about the show, call Lowe at (916) 391-2230.
